Real estate agent Sara Burack, known for her appearance on the Netflix show Million Dollar Beach House, has died following a hit-and-run accident. She was 40.
A bystander called 911 just before 3 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, to report an injured woman lying on Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, according to Southampton Town police.
The restaurant told the Daily Mail it was closed at the time, and that a hotel cleaner from a nearby property was the one who found Sara Burack.
Police say Burack, 40, was found unconscious around 2:45 a.m. with injuries consistent with a hit-and-run. She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital by the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance but later died from her injuries, according to Dan’s Papers.
Authorities confirmed that Burack lived in Southampton and had worked as a real estate broker in the Hamptons and New York City. She was formerly with Nest Seekers International. She focused on the New York City and Hamptons markets before departing the agency last year.
Sara Burack was best known for her appearance on the Netflix reality series Million Dollar Beach House, which aired for one season in 2020. The show followed a group of real estate agents competing to close high-end property deals in the Hamptons’ luxury market.
Police are still searching for the driver involved in the incident.
“My family has a commercial construction material sales business that I spent many years of my life working for,” Burack told Hamptons.com in 2020. “I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.”
She added, “I have been spending half the year in the Hamptons for the past 11 years. It was only natural to turn my love for real estate into a blossoming career.”
She once described the Hamptons as mainly a “second home market,” noting that many of her clients purchased properties there as vacation retreats or long-term investments.
Per Daily Mail, before launching her career, Sara Burack attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, graduating in just three years. She also studied abroad twice in London during her time there.
Known for her vibrant and outgoing personality, Burack was deeply involved in global festivals and award shows. Friends and family described her as someone who could befriend anyone and was deeply loved.
She was also passionate about giving back, volunteering with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Young Professionals Committee in NYC and serving on the Penn Club House Committee. In 2017, she was nominated for Woman of the Year by the organization’s staff and volunteers.
