On a quiet Sunday afternoon, tragedy struck when young Gracelyn Vick mysteriously disappeared from her home in Saucier. Her family said she went outside to play in the yard around midday, but she never came back.
As hours passed with no sign of Gracelyn, her worried relatives quickly alerted the authorities. What followed was an urgent and intensive search effort. For six tense hours, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office led the charge, with local law enforcement, Gulf Coast Search and Rescue teams, helicopters, drones, and nearly 40 volunteers all joining the search.
Deputies meticulously cordoned off areas of the family’s property, including the swing set and cattle enclosures, as they combed through every possible location. Crime scene investigators worked late into the night, carefully documenting the scene and collecting evidence. Around 8:00 p.m., Gracelyn’s lifeless body was discovered and removed from the property.
